Caiti Maskrey:
Time to exit college bliss and enter the real world! Right now I'm studying for my MCAT, which I will take in March. After that I will be applying to both M.D and D.O Medical Schools in June 2012 and Special Master Post-Baccaulaureate Programs in December 2012!! In the meantime, I will be continuing as an SPS counselor, and will start my new internship at Hoag Hospital as a Clinical Care Extender on the gynecology floor!! So excited!!

Shannon Rose Bell:
Hi Folks! I'm Shannon and miss you all so much!! I'm currently in my second year of medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. I love that I'll be a doctor, but school isn't my favorite...thank goodness its only 4 yrs! My time at UCSC was filled with work at the Women's Center, KGD, school, and volunteering as a Peer Educator for Rape Prevention Education--all supporting my interests and passions in life. I have a very close and loving family that has always encouraged me to go for what I want in life and at UCSC I found a family away from home that has took on that same role. I hope you're all enjoying KGD as much as I did and feel free to contact me at any point!

Samantha Balan: "I'm currently still studying for the MCAT, which got pushed back to the end of march. I'm looking for a job in the meantime and volunteering for a hospice in San Jose. Contrary to what people believe, the hospice has been one of the most uplifting places I have been to, where you really get to celebrate life and put things into perspective. It has really reinforced my passion for medicine and helping patients."

Melissa Scott:
"I am currently living in San Diego with my fiance and my dog, Patches. Living here has been such an adventure and I am so happy to be here. I have been taking a few extra classes for Pharmacy school at a community college and also working. I work as an Academic Coach for people in the military who are working towards their Associates Degrees. It is something that I never imagined I would be doing but it is very interesting. I love working with my students and helping them reach their goals. I am also in the process of applying to Pharmacy schools and am currently doing interviews. I still don't know where I will be next year but I am looking forward to starting a new adventure in my life. Of course I miss Santa Cruz and all of my lovely KGD sisters. I think about you guys all the time and I really hope that we can all stay in touch and be a part of each others lives. "

Adrianne Villalvazo: "I just completed my first semester of medical school! YAY!!!!!"

Michelle Riener: 'I'm currently a chemistry graduate student at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and work for Dave Nicewicz from the synthetic organic division."
